Hi,
I'm going through a lab that involves configurating PAP and CHAP. In the lab, you enter the "username xx password xxxxx" command (in global config mode), then configure the other router to send the appropriate username and password.
Is it possible to set the username and password at the interface level so that you can have different usernames and passwords for different interfaces on the router?
For example, in my lab the router has an ISDN interface and a serial interface. I can get either to work using PAP or CHAP but is it possible to have one interface using PAP and one interface using CHAP but sending different passwords? |

Ok, it looks like you can have multiple "username xx password xxxxx" statements in global config mode. I thought that entering a different username and password would overwrite the existing ones, but it just creates a list of usernames and passwords.
So is it the case that the authentication process parses the entire list of usernames and passwords until it finds a match? |
