People,
I am just curious to know whether anyone has done multi-area OSPF routing protocol configuration on free-labs PODs. If so please share some of the possible configurations.
I tried R1-R2-R7 Area-1
R3-R4-R7 Area-0
R5-R6-R7 Area-2
and tried to see if any routing is done from Area 1 to Area-2,,Its deosnt happen.
Please let me know if you have suggestions
Thanks,
Raj |

I did it before,
configure R2 e0 R4 e0 R6 e0 in separate vlan, R1 e0, R3 e0, R5 e0 in the same vlan.
area 0 - R1 e0, R3 e0, R5 e0
area 1 R1-s1 ,R2 s1, R2 e0
area 2 - R3 s1 , R4 s2
area 3 - R4 e0 ( You may use for virtual link )
like this you may confiure & test

Hi,
when you mentioned "..configure R2 e0 R4 e0 R6 e0 in separate vlan.." does it mean 3 separate VLANs ? I did that but it didn't worked..
Appreciate your advise.
config as below:
vlan 10 name R2e0
vlan 20 name R4e0
vlan 30 name R6e0
vlan 40 name Second_VLAN
2) Assign Ports (2,4,6= R2e0, R4e0, R6e0 ) / (1,3,5= Second_VLAN)
conf t
!
interface FastEthernet0/1
switchport access vlan 40
switchport mode access
no shutdown
!
interface FastEthernet0/3
switchport access vlan 40
switchport mode access
no shutdown
!
interface FastEthernet0/5
switchport access vlan 40
switchport mode access
no shutdown
!
interface FastEthernet0/2
switchport access vlan 10
switchport mode access
no shutdown
!
interface FastEthernet0/4
switchport access vlan 20
switchport mode access
no shutdown
!
interface FastEthernet0/6
switchport access vlan 30
switchport mode access
no shutdown
cheers ! |
